Explore new styles with Midjourney's Style Random feature

Looking to create a Midjourney image but undecided on the style? The new Style Random parameter is your ideal tool. It not only helps with finding the right look but also offers inspiration when you hit a creative block.

Let’s test it out and explore some styles within Midjourney. Simply type "--sref random" after your prompt to generate a random style.

For this example, we used this prompt eight times: Medium shot of a 40-year-old Australian businessman with glasses drinking coffee --sref random.

Here are the random styles it generated:

You’ll notice in the results above that the word “random” in the prompt has been replaced with numbers; these numbers are referred to as style codes. These style codes can be used to generate similar images. In this case, Midjourney uses the code to replicate the desired look.

All you need to do is find the image style you want to replicate and copy the corresponding style code. 

Then, in your new prompt, paste the style code and click generate.

Midjourney will now generate an image with a similar style using the style code as a reference.
