A Guide to HubSpot Content Hub's Brand Kit & Tools

A Guide to HubSpot Content Hub's Brand Kit & Tools
A Guide to HubSpot Content Hub's Brand Kit & Tools

Brand kits in HubSpot serve as a tool for organising default logos, URLs, favicons, colors, and themes that define a brand.

By setting up a brand kit, you'll ensure consistency across all HubSpot assets, such as website pages and emails, while also simplifying the process of selecting colors using the color picker tools.

Why is a brand kit essential?

There are many benefits of having a built brand kit in HubSpot, and here are the top 3 reasons why:

  1. Brand Consistency: This ensures that all marketing materials, such as emails and landing pages, maintain consistent use of your brand's logos, colors, and fonts, ultimately boosting brand recognition.

  2. Efficiency: Helps save time by enabling team members to effortlessly apply pre-defined brand elements to new content, thus streamlining the content creation process.

  3. Enhanced Collaboration: It also serves as a central hub for brand guidelines, simplifying the process for teams, particularly in larger organisations, to create on-brand content with precision and ease.

In this blog post, we'll guide you on how to access your brand kit and use its various tools effectively.

Accessing your brand kit

  1. In your HubSpot portal, go to Settings (gear icon found in the top right)
HubSpot Settings Icon - Top Left Menu

  2. On the left side panel, click on Account defaults
Account Defaults - Left Side Bar Menu

  3. Select the Branding tab, then click on the brand kit you want to edit
    Branding Tab and Brand Kit

From there you'll have access to four sections: LogoColor, Themes, and Brand Voice (Beta). You'll also have access to the Favicon subsection under Logo.

Here's what the logo section interface looks like:

Brand Kit Logo Section for XEN Create

This section contains fields where you can input information about your logo, including the Logo name, Logo alt text, Logo URL, and Dimensions (Width and Height).

Here are some tips to keep in mind when filling out this section:

  • Opt for a concise logo name, using dashes "-" to replace spaces for better organisation.
  • Use descriptive alt text for your logo to enhance site accessibility and SEO.
  • Make sure to upload a high-resolution logo to maintain quality across all your assets in HubSpot

XEN Create favicon

Located below the logo section is the favicon section.

A favicon is a small image displayed next to the webpage's title in browser tabs and bookmarks, enhancing brand recognition and user experience. It helps visually distinguish a website, making it look professional and credible to visitors.

When uploading your favicon, consider the following quick tips:

  • Opt for a simple favicon design. If your logo is intricate, choose a basic icon or letter that effectively represents your brand. Remember, this will be visible in your audience's browser tabs, so simplicity is key.
  • The standard size for a favicon is typically 48px (width) by 48px (height).
  • It's important to note that the favicon is NOT your logo but rather a symbolic representation of it.

Brand Kit Color Section for XEN Create

Colors play a crucial role in defining your brand and enhancing audience recognition.

When setting up your brand colors, you'll start by choosing a primary color, along with 2-3 secondary colors to complement it. This strategic selection allows for flexibility in using your brand colors across various materials without appearing too one-dimensional.

To pinpoint the exact HEX code of your desired color, you can use tools such as the Chrome Extension ColorPick Eyedropper. This is useful if you already have a specific image file to draw the colors from.

Brand Kit Themes

Within the Themes tab, you'll find the themes currently in use on your website or landing pages.

Simply select a theme to access its settings. Additionally, by clicking on the Actions button on the right side, you can view additional options to change the theme, edit, or preview its appearance.

Brand Voice AI (Beta)

This feature is available for Content Hub Professional and Enterprise Subscriptions.

Incorporating a brand voice can help in establishing a connection between your audience and your brand by infusing a sense of "personality" into your brand representation. Your brand voice can range from being warm and inviting to authoritative or informative, depending on the impression you wish to convey to your audience.

Here are some tips to help you establish an effective brand voice:

  1. Understand Your Audience: Analyze their interests and preferences to tailor your voice effectively.

  2. Define Your Core Values: Align your voice with the fundamental values of your brand.

  3. Be Consistent, but Adaptable: Maintain a consistent voice across all platforms, adapting tone as necessary for context.
